Writing non-fiction that inspires and encourages Christian readers is a powerful way to share hope and encouragement with the world. It requires a deep understanding of your audience, a clear message of hope, and practical insights and advice that can help readers to overcome their challenges and grow in their faith.
One key element of crafting a message of hope is to have a clear understanding of your audience. Who are you writing for, and what are their needs, desires, and struggles? Understanding your audience can help you to tailor your message to meet them where they are at and connect with them on a personal level.
Another important element of crafting a message of hope is to offer practical insights and advice that can help readers to overcome their challenges and grow in their faith. This means offering real-world examples and actionable steps that readers can take to put your message into practice in their own lives.
In addition to practical insights and advice, crafting a message of hope also requires a clear message of hope. What is the main idea or theme of your book, and how does it offer hope and encouragement to readers? Your message should be clear, concise, and focused, with a clear call to action that inspires readers to take action in their own lives.
One story that illustrates the power of crafting a message of hope is the story of evangelist and motivational speaker Nick Vujicic and his book Life Without Limits, which has sold over 1 million copies. This book offers a powerful message of hope and encouragement, but it is also deeply personal and vulnerable. Through his writing, Vujicic shares his own struggles and doubts, but also offers practical insights and advice that can help readers to overcome their own challenges and find hope in difficult circumstances.
Over the years, I’ve been honored to write several stories about Vujicic’s inspirational life for various media outlets, including this story in Newsmax magazine. My wife Irene and I got to the chance to interview him and meet him in person at an event in Orange County a number of years ago.
In conclusion, crafting a message of hope in non-fiction writing is a powerful way to inspire and encourage Christian readers. By understanding your audience, offering practical insights and advice, and focusing on a clear message of hope, you can create a book that inspires, challenges, and transforms the lives of readers.

Watch The Chosen: Season 4 Official Trailer
Over the years, Inspire Literary Group Founder Troy Anderson has interviewed Nick Vujicic several times. Here is Troy’s very first story about Vujicic in the Los Angeles Daily News. It was published October 4, 2008 and updated on August 29, 2017.
Born without limbs, Nick Vujicic is spreading message of hope
Like many 25-year-olds, Nick Vujicic can surf, golf and swim and he’s training for the Los Angeles Marathon – skills that are admirable but not extraordinary.
But that Vujicic can accomplish these feats despite being born without arms or legs is in his words, a miracle.
And the story of the faith that inspired and motivated him – the spirit behind the miracle – is one that Vujicic is sharing with people around the world as part of his Life Without Limbs ministry.
“I know what I’m here to do and that’s to tell people about the hope in Christ that strengthens me,” said Vujicic, who opened his ministry in Westlake Village nearly a year ago. “I’m not living on my own strength. I’m basically walking on water.
“That’s the miracle. For a guy without arms or legs to smile – that’s a man walking on water.”
Vujicic (pronounced VOY-chich) is becoming a phenomenon as an evangelist and motivational speaker, drawing audiences of as many as 100,000 people to stadiums, arenas and other forums around the globe.
“It’s not about me. It’s about the power of the Holy Spirit in me that gives me the ability to live a supernatural life of victory. That’s the power I live in.
“I’m more than a man without arms or legs. I’m a child of God.”
In speaking to audiences, Vujucic tells how he was born to Serbian immigrants – a pastor and a nurse who still live in Australia – in 1982. Ultrasound tests performed on his pregnant mother failed to reveal that his limbs were not developing, so his parents were unprepared for his condition when he was born.
With no medical explanation, his family and his father’s church questioned why a God of love would allow the pastor’s son to be born without limbs. But in time, they came to trust that God was in control.
Using his chin and a rudimentary foot on his left side, Vujicic learned to not only walk, but swim, play soccer and marbles, skateboard and fish.
Despite his active life, Vujicic was teased and bullied by other children. He saw himself as a burden to his parents and his younger brother and sister, and unlikely to ever have a normal life.
So at age 8, he said, he tried to drown himself.
His story picks up again at age 13, when he read a newspaper article about a man who’d managed to overcome disabilities. It inspired him to be thankful for his loving family, his health and what he calls his “little foot.”
Although the dark period in his life had passed, he still felt God owed him an explanation. Then, at 15, he read in the Gospel of John how Jesus gave sight to a blind man so the work of God could be revealed.
Finding the answer he was seeking, Vujicic committed his life to Christ.
“When I read that, a wave of faith came over me and this peace, this realization that I’m looking for an answer why, but the answer is not knowing why,” he said. “The answer is that God knows why. If God can use a blind man … then he’s got a plan for me.”
Vujicic began telling his story to Bible study groups. Word of his compelling and inspirational tale spread, and the invitations began piling up. In the last decade, he’s spoken more than 1,500 times in 19 countries.
Steve Bundy, managing director of the Christian Institute on Disabilities, said Vujicic is a “natural magnet” and people are instantly attracted to his story of hope.
“They are asking themselves, `What is it that gives him so much joy and so much laughter when life has obviously been cruel to him?”‘ Bundy said. “I think Nick’s display of a champion spirit shows he is not going to allow his disability to limit him in activities in life.”
Despite his childhood fears, Vujicic has lived a fulfilling life. He graduated from college and was recently ordained as a minister by the Apostolic Christian Church.
Vujicic has opened his own office in Westlake Village for the 3-year-old Life Without Limbs ministry, a nonprofit in which he encourages people to give their lives to Christ. He also gives motivational speeches as part of his “Attitude is Altitude” program.
Money raised by the program supports the ministry as well as orphanages in some of the impoverished nations he visits, said Heather Tayloe, a writer for www.lifewithoutlimbs.org.
During a recent speaking engagement in Hawaii, Vujicic was introduced to Bethany Hamilton, a surfing champion who lost her arm to a shark attack in 2003.
“We watched her on `Oprah,’ and I’m like, `Wow, being able to lose something and then keep on going in life is different than me being born this way’,” said Vujicic.
The two hit it off and Hamilton gave him a surfing lesson at Waikiki Beach.
“People were cheering,” said John Rogers, senior associate pastor at the First Assembly of God church where Vujicic spoke. “This guy is so inspirational. His view of his purpose in life – what God has given to him – that there really are no limits and he exudes that. It’s just phenomenal.”
